The Umbilicup I and II was invented by MKMI Medical Innovations. The management team is comprised of physicians and marketing specialists that have more than 75 years of combined experience creating, manufacturing and selling over $350 million worth of medical devices worldwide.
Michael Grossman, M.D.

Dr. Grossman is a Board Certified Anethesiologist in private practice since 1970. While working in the delivery room, Dr. Grossman recognized the need for a safety collection mechanism for cord blood extraction. With the expertise of the other members of the management team, Dr. Grossman was able to fulfill his goal with the creation and production of the Umbilicup. Today, Dr. Grossman remains involved in the development, manufacturing and distribution of unique medical products, such as the Umbilicup, to enhance medical personnel safety in the operating room.
Marvin Adelberg, Ph.D.,
Vice President
Dr. Adelberg received his Ph.D. in Mechanical Engineering from Purdue University. Today Dr. Adelberg is focused on new product development, management and the expansion of both MKMI Medical Innovations and Adelberg Laboratories Inc. Dr. Adelberg is a former consultant to the United States Air Force, NASA, Rand Corporation and numerous other aerospace firms. He holds multiple patents in healthcare-related devices that are sold worldwide.

Mr. Adelberg runs the day to day operations of MKMI Medical Innovations, Inc. Mr. Adelberg is an expert in the manufacturing and distribution of medical devices worldwide and has overseen the sale of over one billion medical products in his career while at MKMI Medical Innovations and Adelberg Laboratories Inc. He holds a Bachelor of Arts (BA) degree from the University of Southern California and is a co-founder of MKMI Medical Innovations, Inc., having been with the company for seven years. His primary duties involve product development, marketing, sales and all elements of production including tool and part design and construction.

Mr. Grossman is responsible for the continued expansion of the Umbilicup into medical labs and hospitals around the world. Mr. Grossman holds a degree in Business Economics from the University of Texas at Austin and a Master's degree in Real Estate Finance from the University of Denver.

Jerome Eder, M.D., FACOG
It is with great sorrow that we mourn the death of Dr. Jerome Eder. As a special consultant to the MKMI team, Dr. Eder will always be remembered fondly. Dr. Eder was a board certified obstetrician/gynecologist practicing in Southern California. In addition to being a renown lecturer, teacher and assistant clinical professor at one of the nation's leading medical schools, Dr. Eder served as the Los Angeles Medical Advisor for a national organization dedicated to research and education concerning genital herpes and human papilloma virus infections. Dr. Eder's passions included research and development of medical and surgical devices. Dr. Eder was published in numerous professional periodicals and journals.
